"I'd let them try my mom's cooking."

I haven't had a chance to take part in  bonding events with migrant workers. I wouldn’t mind letting one of them stay in my house, and let them try my mum's homecooked food as it'd be a meaningful experience. I’ve home-stayed in other countries, so I wouldn’t mind opening my house to migrant workers.

"They took care of us by stopping their drilling."

There was a renovation near my HDB corridor. When we walked past, the workers took care of us by stopping their drilling, and made sure that we crossed safely before resuming their work. I was touched by their kindness and I would want to get to know them better to avoid making stereotypes.

"He was using an old Nokia phone."

I met this bus uncle from China who said he came to Singapore because he could "earn twice as much here.” In order to feed his family, he sacrificed by not being able to spend time with them. What saddens me was, he was still using a Nokia phone - there was no way he could Facetime to see his family at all.
